About “Laly” & the Apron

What & Where

“Laly” is a nickname given to me by my grandmother when I was very young. Much of what I know about cooking I learned from watching “Nanny” as she cooked countless meals for both my immediate and extended family. Aprons slowly became something I enjoy collecting because of all the messy things I enjoy doing and because I like pretty fabrics and fun graphics.

Laly’s Apron offers confidence and connection wrapped in creative fun to women and children through small group DIY home decor and cooking classes which are typically held in my home. If you are interested in a private party, please contact me for details. I also offer “FUNdraisers” for select organizations and special causes.

“My goal is always fun and connection, not stress and perfection.”

— Kelley, Owner of Laly’s Apron

About Kelley

Hey there! I’m Kelley McCurry, a small group DIY Instructor. I have been serving children ages 4-18 and their families for more than 20 years; first as a volunteer in my own children’s classrooms, then as an employee coordinating programs, activities and events for our church and local community and later teaching high school elective classes in Education and Training, Fashion and Interior Design and Lifetime Nutrition.

I encourage women and children to explore creative interests, identify strengths in themselves and others while simply enjoying the process of creating through hands-on DIY classes.  My goal is always fun and connection, not stress and perfection.  Whether you want to create something for yourself or someone else, I have numerous options for you to choose from.  I can help you organize spaces in your home to be both beautiful and efficient.  Once per quarter, children ages 8-12 can have some fun learning kitchen skills by preparing a kid friendly meal during my Kids Night Out event.  This fun-filled 3-hour evening also includes a make and take craft for each participant.
